    Preventative Dentistry

    scaling & polishing

    Cleaning (scaling and polishing)

Regular dental cleaning with a professional is essential in order to maintain a healthy smile. During a cleaning, the hygienist will use a special technique referred to as scaling to effectively remove plaque from the teeth and below the gum line. He or she will then conclude by polishing the teeth to leave them feeling smooth and difficult for bacteria to stick to.

    dental sealants

    Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride has been clinically proven to play a role in the prevention of tooth decay and the preservation, even strengthening, of tooth enamel. Fluoride is an excellent and safe means of cavity prevention, patients who are opposed to fluoride can still benefit from other dental-friendly lifestyle changes, like limiting their intake of sugary and acidic substances.

    dental sealants

    Dental Sealants

Molars that have deep grooves (referred to as pits and fissures) behave as a trap for food and bacteria – and so these areas of the tooth are highly susceptible to decay and cavities. Fortunately, these grooves can be sealed off with a safe and effective dental sealant treatment. This is a popular preventative treatment for children, but adults can also benefit from the procedure.

    Restorative Dentistry

    dental fillings

    Fillings

Dental fillings are necessary in order to treat tooth decay that has taken the form of a cavity or hole in the tooth. There are two types of fillings: Composite resin(white), and amalgam (silver). Composites blend seamlessly with natural teeth, and require less healthy tooth structure to be removed. Amalgam fillings are used in back teeth for larger restorations, are less expensive than white fillings, and generally last longer.

    dental crowns

    Crowns / Bridges

A dental crown is a "cap" that is placed over a portion of the tooth to provide support and strength, as well as serve an aesthetic purpose. A bridge is a dental restoration designed to provide additional support for teeth or implants. Traditionally made out of porcelain and metal, bridges are similar to crowns because they restore areas of the mouth where teeth have been extracted.

    dentures

    DENTURES

A denture is a prosthetic device designed to replace missing teeth. Dentures are supported and held in place by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Depending on how many natural teeth you have lost, the dentist may recommend full dentures or partial dentures (commonly called ‘false teeth’). If you have lost all your teeth, complete or full dentures can replace all your natural teeth.

    dental implants ontario

    IMPLANTS

Dental implants are essentially artificial tooth roots composed of titanium, implanted into the jaw bone to provide a strong foundation for an artificial replacement tooth. A dental implant procedure involves implanting a titanium based anchor to secure a replacement tooth permanently in place. Implants provide a strong foundation for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth.

    Orthodontics

    dental braces

    Braces

Braces are used to correct crooked teeth or malocclusion (problems with the bite) – including underbites, overbites, crossbites, open bites and deep bites. As the tooth shifts, bone-forming cells fill in to permanently reposition the tooth into the desired position. Braces are available in a variety of materials including nickel titanium, ceramic and clear plastic.

    Invisalign dental braces

    INVISALIGN®

Invisalign™ will help you to stay confident and comfortable throughout the teeth straightening process. Invisalign™ uses virtually invisible incremental aligners to straighten teeth. It can correct a wide variety of issues such as crowding, spacing, overbites, crossbites, and underbites. Because these clear aligners are comfortable and virtually undetectable, they are a very popular choice for orthodontic treatment.

    Endodontics

    root canal treatment

    Root Canal Treatment

Root canal therapy or endodontics is performed when the inner wall of the tooth has become infected or damaged. A root canal procedure is the only treatment method available to save a severely infected tooth from eventually being lost. Infection can occur for several reasons such as a crack or chip on that tooth, internal or deep decay or an issue with a crown.

    MOUTH GUARDS

    dental night Guards

    Night Guards

Bruxing or teeth grinding can cause serious problems, not only for patients, but for the people that live with them as well. A night guard is a custom-made appliance that a person wears during sleep to prevent the harmful effects of a teeth grinding habit. Some warning signs of bruxism include regularly waking up with a sore jaw, headache or earache, or teeth that appear worn or jagged at the edges.

    Sports Mouth Guards

    Sports Guards

A sport guard is a custom-made appliance created for athletes and physically active people to wear during sport or competitive physical activity to prevent injury to the jaw and teeth. By wearing a sport guard, you’ll be significantly reducing your risk of dental chipping or fracture, as well as preventing your teeth from becoming dislodged or lost – all problems that require certain dental procedures to fix.

    SnoreNoMore

Do others complain of your loud snoring at night? Are you fed up with feeling exhausted? Are you worried about the long-term health risks? If so, you might suffer from Sleep Apnea. We find that many of our patients are dissatisfied with traditional remedies like the cumbersome CPAP machine, and so Teeth First Dental Network is proud to offer an alternative—the Snore No More Dorsal.

    COSMETIC

    Free teeth whitening

    Teeth Whitening

Over time, our teeth tend to become dull or discoloured. Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures. With the assistance of a professional, this treatment is incredibly safe and effective – and patients love what it can do for their smile and confidence. In-office and take-home whitening methods are able to provide safe and equally effective results.

    dental veneers

    Veneers

Porcelain veneers are custom-made porcelain shells applied to the front of the tooth to dramatically correct and enhance the appearance of a smile. Used for both cosmetic and restorative purposes, a veneer (also known as a veneer cap) can strengthen a tooth that is worn down or chipped. Veneers can also protect the tooth’s surface and strengthen both the tooth and the bite.

    Gum Reduction

For people worried about showing a lot of gum when they smile (referred to as a “gummy smile”), a gum reduction procedure using a safe and precise dental laser can remove excess gum tissue and correct this cosmetic issue.

    oral surgery in Ontario

Oral Surgery (Wisdom Teeth Extraction, Bone Graft)

Wisdom tooth extraction involves the removal of troublesome third molars (wisdom teeth) from a patient’s mouth. Wisdom teeth that are partially impacted require complex extraction, while teeth that are fully erupted require simple extraction. A bone graft involves the addition of bone to the jaw in order to increase its density, typically to prepare the jaw for a successful dental implant placement.
